Linking into work

With the benefit of a strong business consultancy background and hands-on management experience, Training In Action has developed programmes which recognise the need to justify spending on training in terms of tangible results.

Measuring the effectiveness of management development is without doubt an art rather than a science. The very word 'development' implies much more than a simple teaching-learning relationship. A change in behaviour is involved and this requires modifying attitudes and values.

Objectives are set in consultation with the Training Manager or Team Leader, recognising and responding to the strategic context in which the course is being run. During the programme, delegates will be encouraged to make a commitment to a specific course of action involving a goal which is both achievable and measurable back in the workplace. Often, a post course review, held some four to six weeks later, will provide an opportunity to assess progress and commit to the next 'milestone'.
