MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES USING THE OUTDOORS APPRECIATION COURSE FOR TRAINING MANAGERS
We believe that the best way for you to appreciate what we do is through first hand experience. This page is therefore an invitation to attend a short 'self and team awareness' programme, designed to provide you with an introduction to experiential learning, in an environment to meet your own organisational or geographic needs.
Experiential Programmes using 'The Great Outdoors'.
Our appreciation courses at the East Down Centre near Exeter are designed to illustrate our unique approach to experiential learning using the outdoors. The programme is relevant to both management and team development and uses a mixture of outdoor projects, facilitated discussion and input sessions.
Experiential Programmes 'At Sea'
Yacht Provident provides a very powerful medium for experiential development, both with Team Development and Leadership Development programmes. The trick is to keep focused on the learning objectives and not allow the sailing side of things to determine the agenda. In this very short 'taster', which is designed to follow-on from the East Down, land-based programme, we will provide you with first hand experience of living and working on-board Provident, introducing you to the potential offered by this environment.
Experiential Programmes 'On The Lawn'.
The word 'experiential' is often seen as synonymous with 'raft building' or 'caving' - but it is possible to run a very effective programme without leaving the hotel grounds. This sample programme is designed to illustrate how a mixture of indoor and 'low level' outdoor projects can be used for management and team development. The programme is offered from two venues on a trial basis, Parkfields House near Gloucester in the south of England and High Trenhouse in the Yorkshire Dales, for those who would prefer to attend the programme in the North of England.
The nature of the exercises used on this programme however means that this type of course may be run from virtually any hotel venue in the UK or overseas.
Experiential Programmes in the Middle East.
Training In Action has been working in the Middle East for the past five years, developing a successful format for running experiential programmes in this very special cultural and climatic environment. This sample programme is run from Le Meridien Mina Seyahi in Dubai and uses a mixture of indoor and outdoor, 'lawn based' exercises to demonstrate our approach to team and management development.
